Dyna's 10 Beauty Commandments

     1.  VISIT A DERMATOLOGIST.

I'm a make-up artist not a magician.  Make-up, lighting and photography can only do so much...and I don't really believe in overt photoshopping - there's no artistic integrity in it.  So if you have problematic skin, visit a derma who can prescribe a skincare regimen that is suited for your skin type.

     2.  OILINESS IS NEXT TO UGLINESS.

Yuck!  No beso-beso please!!!  Have an oil-free face powder or blot film handy for touch-ups.

     3.  LIPSTICK KA NG LIPSTICK, 'DI KA NAMAN NAG-BRUSH YOUR TEETH!

Good hygiene habits are far more important than your most expensive lipstick or perfume.  And stop smoking na nga!

     4.  STOP SMOKING, EAT HEALTHY, EXERCISE DAILY, SLEEP EARLY (erase all traces of make-up first) AND THINK BEAUTIFUL THOUGHTS (plus a drink a day is okay).

     5.  SUFFER IN THE NAME OF BEAUTY.

This refers to the use of eyelash curlers and false eyelashes (and stiletto heels as well).   I'm not really a big fan of such things because they may damage your real eyelashes if you use them frequently.  But on rare occasions when you want your peepers to stand out bonggaliciously, then you must learn how to use the curlash properly and how to attach and remove the falsies carefully.

     6.  AIM FOR AGELESS BEAUTY, NOT BEAUTYLESS AGE.

In real estate business, the motto is LOCATION-LOCATION-LOCATION.

In beauty business, the motto is UPDATE-UPDATE-UPDATE!

Update your eyebrows - it will reveal the era you're in.

Update your blush - tone it down.

Update your foundation shade - you're a human being, not a siopao.

Update everything...it's non-negotiable.  Unless you're doing a period play or show or film, then it's acceptable.

     7.  LOVE THE SKIN YOU WERE BORN WITH.

So down with whitening and bleaching products!  Morena, kayumanggi, mulatta, negra...celebrate brown chocolate!...

       8.  ...but ALWAYS APPLY SUNBLOCK to prevent sun damage such as discoloration, dryness, wrinkles, basal cell carcinoma...or worse melanoma.  If you were a piece of
fruit, you should be a juicy, luscious grape, not a prune.

     9.  FLAWLESS NOT FLOWLESS.

Let the love flow within and around you...emit good vibes...brighten up any gathering with your presence (not with your absence)...donate your talent, time, energy and money to a good cause.

     10. REMEMBER, THE BEST MAKE-UP IN THE WHOLE UNIVERSE THAT YOU CAN WEAR IS A GENUINE SMILE ON YOUR FACE.
